SuburbCost is an Australian suburb cost comparison tool operated as a sole trader business based in Brisbane, Queensland. This page explains what data the site collects, why, and what happens to it.
Data we collect
Email addresses
If you submit your email address through the comparison report form or the suburb page email capture, we store it in Mailerlite, our email platform. We use it to send you the suburb report you requested and, if you do not unsubscribe, follow-up emails about suburb costs and the SuburbCost tool. Every email includes an unsubscribe link. We do not sell email addresses.
Analytics data
The site uses Google Analytics 4. Google Analytics collects your approximate location, device type, browser, pages visited, time on site, and how you arrived at the site. IP addresses are anonymised before storage. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Map data
Suburb pages display a map image generated by Mapbox. Loading the map sends your IP address to Mapbox's servers. Mapbox's privacy policy is at mapbox.com/legal/privacy.
Cookies
Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser to distinguish returning visitors and track session behaviour. These cookies do not identify you personally. You can delete or block cookies through your browser settings. Doing so will not affect your ability to use the SuburbCost tool.

We do not share data with any other third parties. We do not run advertising on SuburbCost and no advertising networks receive your data through this site.
Data storage and security
Email addresses are stored in Mailerlite's servers, which are located in the United States and European Union. SuburbCost does not operate its own database or store personal data on its own servers. The site itself is a static website hosted on Vercel.
No payment information passes through this site. There is no user account system and no passwords are stored.
Your rights
You can unsubscribe from SuburbCost emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email we send. To request deletion of your email address, email contact@suburbcost.com.au and we will remove it within five business days.
To request a copy of any personal data we hold about you, use the same email address.
Children
SuburbCost is a property research tool intended for adults making property decisions. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we collect or use data, we update this page and revise the date at the top. We do not notify existing subscribers of changes by email unless the change is material.
